KidStoryVideo Credits and Failed Generation Recovery
Current credit charges for reference images and 480p, 720p, or 1080p videos, plus automatic failure recovery behavior.

How credits are charged
KidStoryVideo separates character review from final video generation so you do not pay the full video cost before seeing the character.
| Stage | Credit charge |
|---|---|
| New character reference image | 20 |
| 480p video after reference approval | 230 (250 total) |
| 720p video after reference approval | 480 (500 total) |
| 1080p video after reference approval | 1,780 (1,800 total) |
Reusing a saved character skips the 20-credit new-reference stage. Regenerating a reference image charges another 20 credits. The page shows the charge before each action.
These values describe the product implementation last reviewed on July 13, 2026. The live Pricing page and confirmation button are the authoritative amount before purchase or generation.
What happens when generation fails
Credits consumed for the failed stage are automatically returned. Reference-stage failure returns the reference charge; video-stage failure returns the video-stage charge. Completed earlier stages remain charged because their usable result remains available.
If the first refund attempt cannot be recorded, the project shows “refund processing,” keeps the exact credit transaction reference, and retries reconciliation while the project is polled. The retry button remains disabled until reconciliation completes so the same stage cannot charge you again while a refund is pending.
Purchases, subscriptions, and duplicate webhooks
Plans and one-time packs are fulfilled only after the payment provider reports success. Fulfillment uses provider/session identifiers and database uniqueness rules so repeated webhook delivery does not intentionally grant the same order twice. Subscription renewals use a renewal-period key for the same reason.
Deleting an account does not itself cancel an active payment-provider subscription. Cancel the subscription from Billing before deleting the account. Payment disputes and card refunds are separate from generation-credit recovery; contact support@kidstoryvideo.com with the order number, never card details.
If your balance looks wrong
Refresh the Credits page first. For a failed project, wait until the refund-processing message clears. If it does not clear, send support the short reference shown on the project and the approximate time of the attempt. Do not send a child's original photo by email.
